Comprehensive Care for Every Stage of Childhood
From your baby’s first check-up to high school graduation, we are dedicated to keeping your child healthy, happy, and thriving.
At Lockport Pediatrics, we follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to provide evidence-based care. Whether it’s a routine physical, a vaccination, or managing a chronic condition, our team is here to support your family.
Well-Child Visits (Preventive Care)
Routine Well-Child Examinations Content: Regular check-ups are the foundation of your child’s health. These visits allow us to monitor growth, track developmental milestones, and discuss nutrition, sleep, and safety.
What we cover: Complete physical exams, vision and hearing screenings, developmental screenings (autism/behavioral), and anticipatory guidance for parents.
Schedule: We recommend visits at 3-5 days, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 24 months, 30 months, and then annually starting at age 3.
Newborn Care
Expert Care for Your New Baby Content: Congratulations on your new addition! The first few months are a time of great change. Our team, including certified lactation consultants, is here to support you through feeding challenges, sleep adjustments, and newborn weight checks.
Hospital Follow-up: We typically see newborns 2-3 days after hospital discharge.
Support: Breastfeeding support (Lactation consulting), jaundice monitoring, and reassurance for new parents.
Sick Visits (Acute Care)
Same-Day Sick Appointments Content: We know that illness doesn’t follow a schedule. We reserve time every day for same-day sick visits to ensure your child gets care when they need it most.
Common Conditions Treated: Fevers, ear infections, strep throat, flu/colds, rashes, abdominal pain, and minor injuries.
Advice: Not sure if you need to come in? Call our office to speak with our triage staff for guidance.
Immunizations
We firmly believe that vaccines are the safest and most effective way to protect children from serious and life-threatening diseases. We follow the immunization schedule recommended by the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Services: Routine childhood vaccinations, annual flu shots, and school-required immunizations.
Policy: We are happy to discuss any questions you have about vaccine safety during your visit.
Adolescent Care
Teen Health & Wellness Content: As children grow into teenagers, their healthcare needs change. We provide a safe, confidential space for teens to discuss their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Areas: Sports physicals, mental health screenings (anxiety/depression), acne management, reproductive health discussions, and healthy lifestyle counseling.
